At Arte Dental, our practice uses a preventative-first approach. This means we recommend regular dental check-ups and hygiene appointments to help stop issues from occurring. Your dental check-up with us will include a full mouth examination, where we check for any issues and whether or not there’s any need for further treatment or intervention.
We recommend yearly or twice-yearly check-ups, depending on your oral health and any issues that may come up.

We take a preventative-first approach and recommend regular check-ups for our youngest patients. This is so we can keep an eye on the progress of their teeth as they grow and develop, and spot any issues early on.
Our team is trained to treat younger patients, especially those who might be nervous. At Arte Dental, you can be sure we’ll always treat our youngest patients with extra patience and care.
A mouth cancer screening will be carried out as part of all your regular dental examinations at Arte Dental. As your general dentist, we are at the forefront of your oral health and can spot any issues that could lead to or might be signs of further disease.
During your check-up, we’ll simply examine the mouth for any sores, swellings, or red or white patches in the mouth. If we find anything, we’ll ask you back for a follow-up so we can keep an eye on the situation. In some cases, we may refer you to a specialist.

We recommend at least twice-yearly check-ups to all our patients. In some cases, especially if you’re receiving treatment for a particular issue, we may recommend more.
It’s important to bring children in from an early age. This is so we can monitor their development, and so they can get used to visiting the dentist. This will hopefully prevent them from developing any fears or phobias around dentistry. The best age to first bring them in is when their first tooth has erupted, or by the time they turn one.
Arte Dental is a private practice, so we do not accept NHS patients.
We provide these screenings for all our patients because, as your dentists, we’re best able to spot any potential issues. As with all cancers, it is important to diagnose mouth cancer as early as possible, and we hope to offer our patients peace of mind by providing this service.
We carry out X-rays during most routine dental check-ups. This is so we can have a full picture of the health of your teeth and mouth.
